Dear Happiness House families,

In an effort to minimize the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), The Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) is requiring a temporary suspension of visitation to our residential programs, effective immediately.

We fully recognize the emotional impact of these restrictions on our families, but it is a necessary precaution as we work to minimize transmission of COVID-19 in our community and risk to our staff and the people we serve. In an effort to balance health and safety with social-emotional needs and prevent isolation, we are offering video chat and voice calls.

The health and safety of the entire Happiness House community remains our highest priority, especially in these extraordinary times. There are currently no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in any of our residences. We continue to monitor all guidance from local, state and federal agencies, and will stay in close communication with you about our response as the situation develops. We will contact families when visitation resumes.

Community is essential in times of crisis, and we appreciate your support and understanding as we work to sustain our connections in creative ways.

Sincerely,

Mary Walsh Boatfield
