Pre-Vocational Services — S.T.E.P.S to Success Program
S.T.E.P.S to Success Program
The S.T.E.P.S (Skills, Tools, Education, Practice, and Support) Program is designed to help people work on skills for competitive employment; tools to overcome areas of disability, education toward obtaining employment in a field of choice, practice for retaining skills, and support for those volunteering or working to solve difficulties which arise in the workplace. Volunteer placements help develop references and skills needed for paid employment.
Business 101
Business 101 is designed to help people work on budgeting, advertising, sales, customer service and teamwork skills as well as exploring personal strengths and abilities.
EDP (External Diploma Program) Preparation Classes
The EDP Preparation class helps students with and without disabilities to prepare for the EDP which is a high school equivalence program. Many individuals received an IEP diploma from high school and did not have the opportunity to receive a general diploma which is required for many employment opportunities. These classes are taught by certified BOCES instructors and overseen by our Structured Day Program to give students the individualized attention they need to reach their highest level of success. These classes are open to the community.
