Pedal Tractor Gifted to Children at Happiness House, Pre-schoolers at Geneva health services agency
Rochester, NY (October 1, 2015) A shiny red pedal tractor was recently presented to the preschool children at Happiness House in Geneva. The play tractor, a miniature International Harvester Model 1206, is the perfect size the students of all abilities who attend the half-day preschool on Preemption Road.
The tractor was a gift from the International Harvester Club based in Hall, New York. The family-oriented organization is dedicated to the restoration, preservation, and exhibition of equipment manufactured by the International Harvester Company. The gift to Happiness House is part of the club’s efforts to help educate the public while preserving the legacy of the U.S farm manufacturer which built agricultural machinery, construction equipment, trucks, household, and commercial products from 1902 to 1986.
The pedal tractor was obtained by club member Steve Werner who works for Empire Tractor in Batavia. Before being presented with the tractor at a small ceremony, the children at Happiness House sang several ‘farm songs’ to the club members in attendance. The tractor will have a permanent home on the preschool’s playground and will be used by children with and without disabilities who attend the school.
Happiness House, an educational, residential, health and human service organization, has been serving communities in the Finger Lakes region since 1969.
