Pre-Vocational Services — S.T.E.P.S to Success Program
The S.T.E.P.S (Skills, Tools, Education, Practice, and Support) Program is designed to help people work on skills for competitive employment; tools to overcome areas of disability, education toward obtaining employment in a field of choice, practice for retaining skills, and support for those volunteering or working to solve difficulties which arise in the workplace. Volunteer placements help develop references and skills needed for paid employment. This program works closely with VESID (Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities) as a stepping stone for successful reentry into the competitive work force. Independent living skills training with pre-vocational emphasis is offered to individuals who want to further explore opportunities in the community, and work on skills outside of the group setting.
