SENATOR NOZZOLIO ANNOUNCES $50,000 FOR HAPPINESS

Geneva – Commending them for their success in providing
essential educational services to children and adults with disabilities, New
York State Senator
Michael F. Nozzolio (R-Fayette) today announced that he has secured a $50,000 State grant for Happiness House/ Finger Lakes Cerebral Palsy Association to enhance educational programs and services. The $50,000 grant announced today brings the total secured in State funding by Senator Nozzolio for Happiness House to $100,000.
At the Happiness House Gala Dinner held at the Belhurst Castle in Geneva on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, Senator Nozzolio said, “Happiness House provides critical, high quality, and much needed educational programs and services to hundreds of children and adults with disabilities throughout the Finger Lakes region. It was a pleasure for me to secure this grant to assist Happiness House in meeting the growing needs of the community.”
The $50,000 grant will be used to enable Happiness House/Finger Lakes Cerebral Palsy Association to provide expanded services for the children, adults and families who receive care at the Geneva facility. The funding will be used to build additional class rooms at the Geneva location.
Paul D’Amico, Chairperson, Board of Directors at Happiness House said, “Thank you Senator Nozzolio for all of your hard work in support of Happiness House/Finger Lakes Cerebral Palsy. This funding will be extremely helpful as we continue to provide services to the families of children and adults with disabilities.”
Mary Walsh Boatfield, Executive Director at Happiness House said, “We are very appreciative of Senator Nozzolio’s support and his efforts to secure this funding for us. This grant will assist us in improving the quality of services that we provide to children and adults with disabilities.”
In 2002, Senator Nozzolio secured a $50,000 State grant to assist Happiness House/Finger Lakes Cerebral Palsy Association in upgrading its technology resources. The funding enabled Happiness House to establish a Local Area Network at both the Geneva and Canandaigua sites, improving services Happiness House/Finger Lakes Cerebral Palsy provides.
Happiness House, established in 1969, is a non-profit health and human service organization that provides programs and services to children and adults with disabilities. Happiness House has offices in Geneva, Canandaigua and Waterloo and serves more than 700 consumers and families in Ontario, Seneca, Wayne and Yates counties.
“Chairperson Paul D’Amico, Executive Director Mary Boatfield and the dedicated staff of Happiness House and Finger Lakes Cerebral Palsy Association are all to be commended for their commitment and hard work on behalf of the children and families of our region,” Nozzolio concluded.
