Happiness House's Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Program Celebrates National Brain Injury Awareness Month

Happiness House's TBI program is celebrating all month long! Throughout the month of March an art exhibit will be on display showcasing photographs by the TBI digital photography club at the Ontario County Arts Council Building "All Things Art". Learn what life is like through their eyes when dealing with a traumatic brain injury. Events are FREE and open to the general public. They include:

  • March 12th at 1:30pm - Susan B. Anthony Skit by the TBI History Club.
  • March 13th at 1:30pm - "Tina Angel Monkeys" proceeds to benefit children who are injured or ill at F.F. Thompson Health Hospital.
    At 2pm a community craft project will be run by the TBI craft club.
  • March 19th at 2pm - Happiness House's Protect-A Head Puppet show - where preschoolers can learn about bike safety and the importance of wearing helmets while riding bicycles.
  • March 20th – "Pet-Assisted Therapy and its Benefits" by Melissa Masellio of Paws of Love.
  • March 26th - Live drumming demonstration by a TBI survivor.
    At 1:30pm - "The Benefits of Gardening" by FLCC's Bernadine Ticonchuk.
  • March 27th at 1:30 the Canandaigua Masters Academy and the TBI Tai Ji Club will be doing a community presentation on Tai Ji and a professional demonstration team will perform Taekwondo and Kung Fu.

There will be contests, t-shirt give-aways and much more…

Happiness House- Finger Lakes Cerebral Palsy Association is a private nonprofit health and human service organization that has been serving communities in the Finger Lakes region in Upstate New York since 1969. Today with sites in Canandaigua, Geneva, Gorham, and Waterloo, Happiness House offers an array of educational program, recreational and family support services for children and adults with and without disabilities who reside in Ontario, Seneca, Wayne, and Yates counties. On average Happiness House serves 1,000 individuals and their families each year.
