30-year Employee Reflects on his Life at Rochester Rehab

John Hahn is an employee of Rochester Rehabilitation’s OneSource Solutions Janitorial Services division. For the past 30 years, he has been working at the Federal Building in Rochester as part of the long-term contract it has with Rochester Rehab – cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming offices, and emptying garbage cans. more

Happiness House, which has held a special place in the heart of New York State Senator Michael Nozzolio (54 – R, C, IP) for many years, is hosting a very special tribute event for the out-going senator on Friday, September 23, 2016. The celebration, taking place at Happiness House’s Geneva location at 731 Pre-Emption Road at 1:30 p.m., will honor Senator Nozzolio’s generosity and years of unwavering work and dedication on behalf of adults and children with disabilities. Happiness House Golf Tournament Raises over $45,000

The Francis ‘Ben’ Bonafiglia – Happiness House Golf Tournament, hosted at Seneca Falls Country Club on August 3, raised over $45,000 in support of adults and children with disabilities. Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, the tournament has raised $820,000 since its inaugural event in 1986. more

Rochester Rehabilitiation Receives $4 Million Grant

Rochester Rehabilitation was recently awarded a $4 million grant from the Federal Department of Labor enabling the agency to partner with other organizations and area employers to create access to living-wage jobs, and support career advancement in in-demand industries for parents with dependent children at home. Job training, job placement, career advancement, benefits management, and child support will be available. more

Rochester Rehabilitation Joins Ability Partners, Inc.

One year after the executive staffing agreement took effect, Rochester Rehabilitation has officially become an affiliate agency of Ability Partners, Inc. Incorporated in December 2014; Ability Partners, Inc. is the passive parent corporation which includes CP Rochester in Monroe County and Happiness House in Ontario County. With the inclusion of Rochester Rehabilitation, Ability Partners, Inc. now grows to three partner agencies, each operating as separate subsidiaries. more

Rochester Rehabilitation Hosting Employment Conference

Rochester Rehabilitation is hosting a first-of-its-kind employment conference in Western New York on Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sponsored by Wegmans, Employment First will focus on employment outcomes for special populations, including individuals with a disadvantage, those in poverty, people with disabilities, refugees, and veterans. With the planned retirement of CP Rochester President Brian C. Klafehn, the agency has signed a Executive Staffing Agreement with Happiness House/Finger Lakes United Cerebral Palsy (FLUCP), Inc. to provide senior leadership to CP Rochester. Happiness House Foundation Motorcycle Run for Autism Awareness held in collaboration with Jeremy’s Journey for Hope Raises $5,700

The festivities for Happiness House’s 5th Annual Motorcycle Run held in collaboration with Jeremy’s Journey for Hope began at the Shortsville American Legion, 1513 Palmyra Street/Rt. 21 in Shortsville on Saturday, August 27th, 2011 with registration and a pancake breakfast at 8:30 am. 70 riders and passengers enjoyed a scenic run and raised $5,700 for Autism awareness. New Friends Preschool Program at Happiness House Offers Innovative Pet Therapy Program

Happiness House’s New Friends Preschool Program is pleased to be partnering with Lynn Anania of Geneva, and her dog, Phoebe, to institute an exciting pet therapy program to the agency’s preschool children with special needs. The innovative pet therapy program is through Therapy Dogs International, Inc. and is entitled “Tail Waggin’ Tutors.” Happiness House, in conjunction with Ms. Anania, is thrilled to be offering this unique pet therapy program. The morning parade will take place from 10:30-11:00am and the afternoon one will be from 2:30 – 3:00pm on Tuesday, June 14th, 2011 at 5415 County Road 30 in Canandaigua. The Golisano Foundation Board of Trustees Awards $440,000 to Happiness House/Finger Lakes Cerebral Palsy Association to Open Transitional Residence for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities & Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI

Happiness House is pleased to announce a partnership with the Golisano Foundation to support the construction of a 5,300 square foot eight person transitional residences equipped with eight efficiency apartments in Canandaigua. A very generous gift of $440,000 was awarded to Happiness House. This “one of a kind” transitional home will assist us in serving three young adults with disabilities and five adults with TBI. This transitional residence is unique because it is “non-certified”. Happiness House will ensure quality care, compliance and will utilize various funding streams in serving all eligible individuals with disabilities who will reside in this home. (more)

Officer Anthony DiPonzio Leads Autism Services of the Finger Lakes at Happiness House in Autism Awareness Walk Raising Over $18,600

Happiness House/Autism Services of the Finger Lakes at Happiness House in collaboration with UNYFEAT (Upstate New York Families for Effective Autism Treatment) hosted our inaugural Autism Awareness Walk at Eastview Mall which raised over $18,600. A total of 247 walkers participated in this event helping to raise awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorders, which affect 1 in 110 individuals. Autism Services of the Finger Lakes at Happiness House is proactive in meeting the high demand and need for these services by opening new classrooms, increasing therapy services and building a new transitional home in Canandaigua.(more)
