Happiness House Foundation Motorcycle Run for Autism Awareness held in collaboration with Jeremy’s Journey for Hope Raises $5,700

The festivities for Happiness House’s 5th Annual Motorcycle Run held in collaboration with Jeremy’s Journey for Hope began at the Shortsville American Legion, 1513 Palmyra Street/Rt. 21 in Shortsville on Saturday, August 27th, 2011 with registration and a pancake breakfast at 8:30 am. 70 riders and passengers enjoyed a scenic run and raised $5,700 for Autism awareness. Major sponsors of this event included the Shortsville American Legion, Paint Masters Auto Finishes, Relph Benefit Advisors, Brian & Kelly Meath, Rochester Lead Works, Inc., and the Penn Yan Elks Lodge 1722. more)

Signed Arnold Palmer watercolor print to be auctioned at 25th Annual Francis “Ben” Bonafiglia Happiness House Golf Tournament presented by the Bonafiglia Family Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011 at the Seneca Falls Country Club

The Francis “Ben” Bonafiglia Happiness House Foundation Golf Tournament, proudly presented by the Bonafiglia family, will be held on Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011 at Seneca Falls Country Club in Seneca Falls, NY. Registration and a continental breakfast will begin at 8:30 am. The honorary chair for this year’s tournament is Thomas [Tom] Vasile. Tom and his brother Sam Vasile are co-owners of Finger Lakes Bottling Co., Inc. and have played in Happiness House’s golf tournament for the past 25 years. Finger Lakes Bottling Co., Inc. has been the annual Founding and Major Sponsor of this event for quite some time.more)

Finger Lakes Cerebral Palsy Association/Happiness House Holds 12th Annual Staff Recognition Event

The Board of Directors and staff at Happiness House gathered at the Inn on the Lake in Canandaigua to recognize staff and to celebrate the culmination of another outstanding year. One of the highlights of this event was the introduction of the nominees for the Mary W. Griswold Professional Service Award, which recognizes the exceptional work of Happiness House staff members, who in and through their work exemplify the mission and vision of the agency. more)

Groundbreaking Ceremony for Transitional Home in Partnership with the Golisano Foundation for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities & Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

New Friends Preschool Program at Happiness House Offers Innovative Pet Therapy Program

Happiness House’s New Friends Preschool Program is pleased to be partnering with Lynn Anania of Geneva, and her dog, Phoebe, to institute an exciting pet therapy program to the agency’s preschool children with special needs. The innovative pet therapy program is through Therapy Dogs International, Inc. and is entitled “Tail Waggin’ Tutors.” Happiness House, in conjunction with Ms. Anania, is thrilled to be offering this unique pet therapy program. There is A Lot to Celebrate at Happiness House!

In honor of Flag Day, Happiness House preschool students’ and staff are having two parades! The morning parade will take place from 10:30-11:00am and the afternoon one will be from 2:30 – 3:00pm on Tuesday, June 14th, 2011 at 5415 County Road 30 in Canandaigua. Classrooms are rotating for the morning and the afternoon parade slot.(more)

The Golisano Foundation Board of Trustees Awards $440,000 to Happiness House/Finger Lakes Cerebral Palsy Association to Open Transitional Residence for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities & Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI

Happiness House is pleased to announce a partnership with the Golisano Foundation to support the construction of a 5,300 square foot eight person transitional residences equipped with eight efficiency apartments in Canandaigua. A very generous gift of $440,000 was awarded to Happiness House. This “one of a kind” transitional home will assist us in serving three young adults with disabilities and five adults with TBI. This transitional residence is unique because it is “non-certified”. Happiness House will ensure quality care, compliance and will utilize various funding streams in serving all eligible individuals with disabilities who will reside in this home. (more)

Officer Anthony DiPonzio Leads Autism Services of the Finger Lakes at Happiness House in Autism Awareness Walk Raising Over $18,600

Happiness House/Autism Services of the Finger Lakes at Happiness House in collaboration with UNYFEAT (Upstate New York Families for Effective Autism Treatment) hosted our inaugural Autism Awareness Walk at Eastview Mall which raised over $18,600. A total of 247 walkers participated in this event helping to raise awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorders, which affect 1 in 110 individuals. Autism Services of the Finger Lakes at Happiness House is proactive in meeting the high demand and need for these services by opening new classrooms, increasing therapy services and building a new transitional home in Canandaigua.(more)

Happiness House in collaboration with UNYFEAT will hold an Autism Awareness Walk on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Eastview Mall in Victor at the open court in front of the BON-TON entrance from 7:30–9:00 am. Honorary Chair Officer Anthony DiPonzio will lead the way as we walk to raise awareness during National Autism Awareness month.(more)
